Faith Study - Orthodox Seekers - Newly Illumined
Adult Faith Study
Adult Faith Study convenes 10:00 a.m. - Noon every Tuesday,
September through mid-December.
The first hour is for socializing and multimedia . We devote the second hour to discuss the upcoming Sunday Gospel and the assigned reading for the week.
This season, we are studying St. Porphyrios' book, "Wounded by Love", to be followed by
"The Spiritual Counsels of Saint Paisios the Athonite" (Volume VI: On Prayer) .
Books are available from the link above or through our Cathedral bookstore.
Orthodox Seekers
People desiring to become Orthodox Christians gather with Fr. Philemon weekly on Tuesday evenings 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.,
September through mid December at the Cathedral to be instructed.
The primary text used is "Introducing the Orthodox Church" by Fr. Anthony Coniaris.
We draw from numerous additional sources throughout the year for supplemental study.
A prerequisite for participating with us on Tuesday evenings is a face-to-face meeting with Fr. Philemon so he can better assist you on your journey into the Orthodox Church.
Please text Fr. Philemon at (239) 963-7558 with your availability (days and times) so that he can check for meeting times against his calendar.
